Showering Hearts

I had my first follow-up appointment with my doctor today to see how my knee was healing, to check my range of motion, and to remove some of my stitches. The physician’s assistant checked me out and said that everything was healing nicely. My x-rays showed that the new tendon was holding on and that the small buttons anchoring it in place were still attached.

I’m now able to bend my knee about 65-70 degrees and extend it out straight, which is really good progress at this stage. My physical therapist said that I was ahead of the game. I am pretty much putting my full weight on my leg now when I walk, and I’m consistently walking with only one crutch.

But the best news that I received today was that I’m able to take showers again! Obviously, I have to be careful with the area where my remaining stitches are, but I can get it wet. Which means no more sink baths!
