Today, my wife was sitting on the couch watching TV. I walked up behind the couch, and she tilted
her head back to look at me. As I stood
there staring deeply into her eyes, the other features of her face started to
dissolve into an unfocused blur. I was left
with only her eyes, and I realized that even upside down, they looked like a
normal pair of eyes. That is to say that
if I could only see her eyes and nothing else, I would think I was looking at
her right-side up. It was so freaky and
uncanny, that I started to laugh. When I
explained to her what I was laughing at, she started to laugh too. Suddenly, she was looking at me the same way. The more we laughed, the squintier our eyes
became, and the funnier they looked. I
kept telling her that she was blinking the wrong way, which just made her laugh
harder.
