I live in Dallas, and my journey home at night takes me right by the DFW airport. The planes descend right over the highway onto the runways on the other side. It's really cool at night, because you can see all the planes lit up across the sky in well-formed lines as
they get into their landing patterns. There's something simplistically
beautiful about the coordination and execution that it takes to pull that off. It's even cooler on cloudy nights, when the planes drop through the clouds one by one, right in
line behind each other. It's like some kind of aerial synchronized swimming
routine.
